We Compared The Pricing of 113 SEO Growth Tools: Here's What We Found
Last updated: May 25, 2026
SEO is one of the largest and most competitive niches in B2B SaaS, with the category's biggest names commanding nine-figure ARR and the long tail still profitable enough to support hundreds of independent products. We pulled the public pricing pages of 113 SEO growth tools ourselves, decomposed every tool into the same comparable dimensions, and ran the aggregates to figure out what actually works in pricing in this category and what to copy if you're building in this space.
The dataset spans eight workflow families: SEO intelligence suites, keyword and question research tools, rank and SERP tracking, content optimization, auditing and technical monitoring, links and semantic SEO, local SEO and Google Business Profile tools, and WordPress SEO plugins. For each SEO growth tool, we recorded the same fourteen dimensions: name, primary workflow, pricing model, cheapest monthly plan, most expensive monthly plan, free plan, free trial, credit card requirement, monthly billing option, annual discount, enterprise plan availability, free plan limitations, cheapest-plan features, paid-plan unlocks, and upgrade triggers.
If you want to see what proven pricing patterns look like beyond SEO growth tools, our database of 300 profitable internet businesses breaks down revenue, distribution, and packaging for each one.
Summary
This study analyzes the pricing of 113 SEO growth tools captured from their public pricing pages. We included tools whose primary value proposition is to grow organic search traffic, which covers SEO intelligence suites, keyword research, rank tracking, content optimization, technical SEO auditing, links and semantic SEO, local SEO, and WordPress SEO plugins, while excluding generic analytics, AI writing, CMS, and marketing automation products.
The SEO growth tools market is overwhelmingly subscription-based. Only 12% of tools lack a monthly billing option, which means buyers can almost always start without committing to an annual plan, and the few exceptions are concentrated in plugins and desktop-style products.
Entry pricing in SEO growth tools is genuinely SMB-accessible. The median cheapest plan sits at $36 per month and 82% of tools start below $99, which means freelancers and small teams can enter every major SEO workflow without ever talking to sales.
Top public pricing is built for expansion, not acquisition. The average top public plan reaches $269 per month, 47% of SEO growth tools publish a plan above $199, and 50% have an enterprise path on top of that, which confirms most pricing pages in this category are designed to grow ARPU after activation rather than maximize signup.
Free trials beat freemium by roughly two to one. 63% of SEO growth tools offer a free trial while only 35% offer a free plan, which means trial-led conversion is the category's default rather than freemium.
Trials are short by SaaS standards. The typical explicit free trial runs 7 to 14 days, the average is around 12 days, and only 13% of tools require a credit card to start, which means no-card short trials are now the norm.
The annual discount is remarkably consistent across the category. The median annual discount is 20% and the average is 22%, which means "two months free" is the de facto standard buyers expect from an SEO growth tool.
Plan count converges around three to four. The average is 3.7 plans and the median is 4, which suggests two-tier products feel incomplete to buyers in this category and five-tier products feel like decision overload.
Enterprise pricing is widespread but rarely fully public. 50% of SEO growth tools have an enterprise path, but those pages emphasize custom limits and procurement comfort rather than exclusive features.
Keyword volume is the dominant upgrade trigger. 44% of SEO growth tools meter keyword volume as their primary upgrade lever, ahead of AI usage (30%), report volume (27%), credits (26%), and API access (26%).

GET THE FULL DATABASE → $49Questions on pricing SEO growth tools
These are the questions we kept circling back to while building the dataset. They are the ones that matter if you're trying to figure out what's actually working in SEO growth tools pricing, and what to copy if you're shipping your own.
What should be the pricing model for an SEO growth tool?
The pricing model for an SEO growth tool should be a recurring monthly subscription with three to four tiers, an annual discount of around 20%, and an enterprise path layered on top for the largest accounts.
Recurring subscriptions are the structural default. Across the 113 SEO growth tools in our dataset, virtually every product uses a recurring base, which means non-subscription pricing in this category is effectively absent. The few hybrid models we tracked layer credits or usage packs on top of a recurring tier, not instead of one.
Plan count converges tightly around 3 to 4 tiers, with an average of 3.7 plans and a median of 4. Two-tier products feel incomplete to buyers in this category, while five-tier products feel like decision overload, which is why 3 to 4 tiers is the comfortable shape that nearly every successful SEO growth tool ends up with.
Annual billing is treated as a discount lever rather than a forced default. Only 12% of SEO growth tools lack a monthly option, which suggests forcing annual-only billing is acceptable only when the product behaves like a WordPress plugin, a desktop license, or a productized service rather than a typical cloud SaaS.
The 20% median annual discount is consistent across nearly every workflow group, with the only meaningful exception being WordPress SEO plugins at around 12%. Anything in the 17 to 25% band reads as fair to buyers, anything under 15% reads as stingy, and anything above 30% reads as promotional rather than structural.
Enterprise pricing is present in half the category. 50% of SEO growth tools layer an enterprise tier on top of their public plans, but it is rarely a fully published price. Most enterprise pages emphasize custom limits, API access, and dedicated support, which means the real role of enterprise is to give procurement teams a path to "yes" without forcing a self-serve buyer to negotiate.
What price should be charged for an SEO growth tool?
The price charged for an SEO growth tool should fall between roughly $36 at entry and $199 at the top public tier, since that is the median band across the 113 tools in the dataset.
The full price distribution in SEO growth tools is wide. Entry plans run from around $4 for WordPress plugins like AIOSEO or SEOPress to $599 for premium link risk tools like LinkResearchTools, while top public plans range from $8 for desktop log file analyzers to $2,499 for enterprise link platforms. A flat market average misrepresents both ends of that distribution, so most useful benchmarks in this category come from medians, not means.
At entry, the average of $48 is pulled upward by a long tail of premium tools. The median of $36 is the more reliable anchor for the typical first paid plan in an SEO growth tool, and 57% of tools start below $49, which means the cheapest plan is genuinely SMB-accessible across most of the category.
At the top, the average of $269 hides a similar bimodal pattern. The median top public plan of $199 is what most mainstream self-serve SEO growth tools converge on, and 47% of tools publish a plan above $199. The handful of tools that push significantly past $500 are concentrated in rank tracking, links, and content optimization where data costs justify it.
Sub-category matters more than ambition. WordPress SEO plugins live on a $7 to $27 median band, keyword research tools sit between $24 and $99, content optimization runs $49 to $199, and SEO intelligence suites span $49 to $299. The right price for an SEO growth tool is mostly a function of which workflow you're competing in, not how confidently you want to position the product.
The pricing pages that work in this category are the ones that price within their workflow band and use the full vertical headroom of the category for expansion. Pricing below the band signals a lightweight utility, and pricing above it without a clear data, automation, or enterprise justification visibly hurts conversion.
Are people willing to pay a lot for an SEO growth tool?
Yes, people are willing to pay a lot for an SEO growth tool. 47% of the 113 tools we analyzed publish a plan above $199 per month, the average top public plan reaches $269, and the strongest sub-categories push into the $400 to $2,500 range.
67% of SEO growth tools publish a plan above $99, which means high self-serve pricing is the norm rather than the exception. The pricing pages in this category are clearly designed for ARPU expansion at least as much as for entry conversion.
Rank tracking has the steepest expansion curve. The median top plan is $377 and the average is $391, almost double the broader category median of $199. This reflects how aggressively rank trackers monetize keyword volume once a customer is anchored on a low-cost entry plan.
Backlink and link tools sit even higher at the top end, with an average top plan of $564 driven by enterprise link-risk platforms like LinkResearchTools. The category is bimodal, with cheap internal-linking plugins on one side and premium link platforms on the other, which means a flat average misrepresents both ends.
WordPress SEO plugins are the one structural exception. The median top plan in the plugin group is just $27, because plugin distribution dynamics force pricing into a compressed band that wouldn't survive in any other SEO growth tool sub-category.
Published top tiers also underestimate what the largest accounts actually pay. 50% of SEO growth tools sit an enterprise tier on top of their public plans, which means the visible $269 average ceiling is closer to a floor than a real top for the biggest customers in the category.
If you want to find a business model where buyers happily pay $500+ a month, our database of 300 internet businesses breaks down which ones command premium pricing and why.
Should an SEO growth tool launch with freemium, free trial or both?
An SEO growth tool should launch with a free trial rather than a free plan, because 63% of the 113 tools in our dataset offer a free trial while only 35% offer a free plan.
Free trials roughly double the prevalence of free plans in SEO growth tools, which confirms that trial-led conversion is the category's default. Most tools without a free plan compensate with a trial, and only a small minority commit to neither.
Trials are shorter than in many SaaS categories. The typical explicit free trial runs 7 to 14 days and the average is around 12 days, which means 14-day trials are an upper bound rather than the norm. 30-day trials still exist, but they are concentrated in products with longer onboarding like Moz Pro or Linkody, not in the mainstream.
No-card trials are now the majority. Only 13% of SEO growth tools require a credit card upfront and 58% explicitly do not, which means going card-free is a viable conversion lever for new entrants rather than a brave bet.
WordPress plugins are the visible exception to the trial-led pattern. The free version of the plugin effectively replaces the trial, which is why plugin tools like Rank Math, Yoast, AIOSEO, SEOPress, and Slim SEO skip trials almost entirely and rely on the free version to evaluate inside the buyer's own install.
Money-back guarantees act as a parallel risk-reduction lever in SEO growth tools. 27% of tools offer one, concentrated in plugins and tools under $99 entry pricing, which means a guarantee can substitute for a free trial when the product is cheap enough to refund painlessly but too complex to demo in seven days.

STEAL WHAT WORKS → $49What should be the price of the first paid plan of an SEO growth tool?
The first paid plan of an SEO growth tool should sit around $36 per month, which is the median across the 113-tool dataset, with the right price strongly dictated by three psychological thresholds at $29, $49, and $99.
40% of SEO growth tools start below $29 per month, which makes $29 the boundary between "impulse-friendly utility" and "professional tool". Sub-$29 entry pricing is concentrated in WordPress plugins, internal linking tools, lightweight rank trackers, and narrow keyword tools, not in broad SEO platforms.
57% of SEO growth tools start below $49, which makes $49 the psychological line between SMB-accessible and "serious tool" positioning. An entry plan above $49 visibly repositions an SEO growth tool from freelancer-friendly to professional-only, which is a deliberate choice rather than a neutral one.
82% of SEO growth tools start below $99, which means an entry tier above $99 immediately places a product in the upper-entry bracket. Buyers expect a clear justification at that price point, usually in the form of enterprise-grade data, automation, or unusually high inclusion volumes.
Sub-category anchors entry pricing more than anything else. WordPress plugins sit at a $7 median entry, keyword tools at $24, local SEO at $32, rank trackers at $33, auditing at $34, links at $40, and content optimization and SEO suites both at $49. The right entry price for an SEO growth tool is mostly determined by which workflow it competes in.
The $29 to $49 mid-band is where most independent SEO growth tools end up. It is the "the freelancer doesn't have to think about it" zone, and it is where Mangools, KeySearch, Wordtracker, Ubersuggest, Ranktracker, and SEOptimer all sit, which is the safest starting point if the workflow doesn't push you elsewhere.
What should the cheapest paid plan of an SEO growth tool include?
The cheapest paid plan of an SEO growth tool should include the category's core workflow, AI features as table stakes, and just enough usage volume to prove value without unlocking full operational scale.
Keyword functionality and AI features are the two dominant cheapest-plan features, appearing in 48% and 47% of entry plans respectively. AI in particular has shifted from differentiator to baseline in SEO growth tools, which means a cheapest plan without AI now reads as incomplete rather than focused.
The next layer down is audits at 24%, projects at 22%, reports at 20%, and credits at 20%. These features map to the specific core jobs of each workflow: audits for technical tools, projects and reports for SEO intelligence suites, credits for credit-based research tools, and rank tracking for tracker products. The cheapest plan should include the core job of the workflow you're in, even if the volume is tight.
The cheapest plan should not gate the core workflow itself. Buyers in SEO growth tools accept volume gating but reject feature gating at entry, which means the cheapest plan needs to let users actually do the thing the product is sold for, even if it caps how much of it they can do per month.
Volume inclusion is where pricing pages differentiate. Mangools' Basic plan includes 100 daily keyword lookups, KeySearch's entry plan includes 200 searches per day, Frase's Starter plan includes 10 AI articles per month, and Sitebulb's Lite plan includes 10,000 URLs per audit. These caps are deliberately enough to evaluate the product but not enough to run a serious operation.
The cheapest plan should also signal what gets unlocked next. The clearer the visible difference between the entry and the next tier (more keywords, more reports, more sites, more AI credits), the easier the first upgrade decision becomes. Vague feature lists at entry hurt conversion more than tight volume caps do.
What should trigger upgrades for an SEO growth tool?
The dominant upgrade trigger for an SEO growth tool is keyword volume, which 44% of the tools we analyzed use as their primary lever, ahead of AI usage (30%), report volume (27%), credits (26%), and API access (26%).
Keyword volume works as a trigger because it is unambiguous and easy to communicate. Buyers can count keywords; they can't easily count "advanced features", which means keyword caps drive cleaner upgrades than feature gates and explain why nearly half the SEO growth tools in the dataset converge on this lever.
AI usage at 30% confirms that AI has fully moved from differentiator to metered resource. AI presence is now table stakes in cheapest plans, while AI volume in articles, credits, prompts, or tokens becomes the actual monetization lever in upgrades.
Report volume (27%), credits (26%), and API access (26%) form the next layer of triggers. Reports drive expansion in agency and client-facing workflows, credits work for products built on a credit economy, and API access remains the clearest single signal of advanced or enterprise SEO buyer intent.
Site or domain counts (24%), seats (21%), and project counts (19%) sit one layer further down. These triggers fit multi-site agency expansion, which is why they cluster in SEO intelligence suites, audit tools, local SEO platforms, and WordPress plugins.
White-labeling is far less monetized than the agency narrative implies. Only 11% of SEO growth tools list white-label as an explicit upgrade trigger, which suggests white-label is more often included by default at mid-tier than gated to higher tiers, and reserving it for the top plan can backfire if competitors include it earlier.
Upgrade triggers also vary sharply by SEO sub-category. Rank trackers monetize almost exclusively on keyword volume, content optimization tools meter article output and AI credits, technical crawlers meter crawl depth and pages, and link platforms meter rows and historic indexes. The right trigger to pick depends as much on what you sell as on what you can measure.
Which features should stay for the most expensive plan of an SEO growth tool?
The most expensive plan of an SEO growth tool should reserve four things: custom limits, API access, priority or dedicated support, and dedicated success or account management.
Custom packaging is the most universal enterprise lever. 27% of enterprise pages in our dataset emphasize custom limits or bespoke configuration, which confirms enterprise is mostly about giving procurement a path to "yes" rather than about exclusive features.
API access is the cleanest top-tier gate. 13% of SEO growth tools reserve API specifically for enterprise and 26% gate it at upgrade points more broadly, which means API access remains the clearest single signal of advanced buyer intent and the most defensible feature to push into the highest tier.
Priority support (13%) and dedicated success or account management (8%) round out the next layer, with onboarding present in 5% of enterprise descriptions. None of these features are loved by users, but they unlock procurement at customers paying $500 to $2,500 per month, which is where margin lives.
SSO and security controls are conspicuously absent from public enterprise pages. Only 3% of SEO growth tools mention them publicly, which suggests these features are discussed in sales conversations rather than published on pricing pages, even when they are part of the actual enterprise package.
White-label is also rarely the headline enterprise feature. Only 3% of enterprise pages center white-label as an exclusive enterprise unlock, because the feature is typically included earlier in the plan ladder, especially in agency-facing rank trackers, reporting suites, and local SEO platforms.
If you're trying to figure out how to package your own top tier, our database of 300 profitable businesses shows what each one chose to gate at premium pricing.

STEAL WHAT WORKS → $49What should appear on the pricing page of an SEO growth tool to increase conversion?
The pricing page of an SEO growth tool should show three to four clearly compared tiers, an annual and monthly toggle defaulted to annual, a most-popular badge on the intended tier, a money-back guarantee where the price point allows, and a free trial accessible above the fold.
Three to four tiers is the comfortable shape. The average SEO growth tool runs 3.7 plans and the median is 4, which converges around a good-better-best plus enterprise structure that buyers can scan and compare in a few seconds without decision fatigue.
The annual and monthly toggle defaulted to annual is now universal practice. Hiding the toggle or defaulting to monthly visibly hurts conversion, because the annual price is what most prospects anchor on when comparing SEO growth tools side by side.
38% of SEO growth tools use a most-popular badge to anchor attention on a specific tier. That is significant but not universal, which means it is still optional rather than expected, but it is becoming a default for above-average pricing pages and it almost always sits on the second of four tiers.
27% of SEO growth tools offer a money-back guarantee, concentrated in plugins and lower-priced self-serve tools. Higher-ticket SEO growth tools rely on brand pull, demos, or trial mechanics instead, which means the guarantee is most effective below $99 entry pricing where a refund is operationally cheap to honor.
Promo codes are essentially absent from the category. Only 4% of SEO growth tools show a coupon field on their pricing pages, which suggests this category doesn't compete on discounts the way commodity SaaS does, and showing a visible coupon field can actually signal weakness in this market.
Free trials should be obvious above the fold. With 63% of tools offering a trial and 58% explicitly going card-free, the trial-led conversion path is the category default, and burying it below tier descriptions costs more conversion than it saves in qualification.
If you want to see what high-converting pricing pages look like across 300 different businesses, our internet business database lets you copy the patterns directly.
What are other interesting things SEO growth tools do regarding their pricing model?
Beyond the headline metrics, SEO growth tools share a few quieter patterns that say something about how the category prices, frames, and reassures its buyers.
WordPress SEO plugins operate on entirely different pricing economics from every other SEO growth tool group. Their median entry is $7 and median top plan is $27, which is structurally cheaper because plugin distribution dynamics force pricing into a compressed band, infrastructure costs are lower, and the buyer evaluates inside their own install rather than in a hosted dashboard. No other SEO sub-category tolerates this price compression.
Backlink and local SEO are both bimodal categories within SEO growth tools. Backlink tools median at $40 entry but average $101, with cheap internal linking plugins on one end and enterprise link-risk platforms like LinkResearchTools on the other. Local SEO is similar, with a $32 median entry and a $77 average pulled up by enterprise multi-location platforms. A flat average is misleading in either group, and benchmarking pricing against the median is much more useful than against the mean.
Money-back guarantees concentrate sharply below $99 entry pricing. 27% of SEO growth tools offer one, but the pattern is heavily weighted toward plugins, lower-priced audit tools, and entry-tier rank trackers. At higher prices, brand trust, trial mechanics, and direct sales conversations carry the trust load instead, which is why $500+ SEO growth tools almost never offer a money-back guarantee.
Coupons and vouchers are almost entirely absent from SEO growth tool pricing pages. Only 4% display a coupon field, which suggests SEO buyers don't expect discounts at the pricing page level, and showing one can actually weaken the perceived professionalism of the product. This is a notable contrast with commodity SaaS, where coupon visibility is much more common.
The annual discount band is narrower than most builders assume. Across the entire dataset of SEO growth tools, 17% to 25% covers the vast majority of stated discounts, with very few products venturing below 15% or above 30%. Outside that band, the discount stops looking structural and starts looking either stingy or promotional, which weakens the anchor effect on the pricing page.

We collected data and analyzed the pricing of 113 SEO growth tools, decomposed each one into comparable dimensions, and ran the aggregates to figure out what actually works in this category. Here are our most interesting findings:
- The SEO growth tools market is structurally recurring. Subscriptions are the universal default and only 12% of tools lack a monthly option, which means non-subscription or annual-only pricing models would face buyer skepticism rather than category demand.
- Entry pricing in SEO growth tools looks accessible until you read the average. The median cheapest plan is $36 per month but the average is $48, which means the category has a long expensive tail and anyone benchmarking SEO growth tool pricing should reference the median rather than the mean.
- The $49 threshold separates accessible from serious in SEO growth tools. 57% of tools start below $49 and 40% start below $29, which makes $49 the psychological boundary between freelancer-friendly and professional-only positioning across the category.
- Top public pricing carries more weight than entry pricing in SEO growth tools. 67% of tools publish plans above $99 and 47% publish plans above $199, which confirms that most SEO growth tool pricing pages are designed for ARPU expansion rather than top-of-funnel conversion.
- The annual discount has hardened into a buyer expectation across SEO growth tools. Median 20% and average 22% with very tight clustering means the 17 to 25% band is the de facto standard, and anything outside it reads as either stingy or promotional.
- Free trials are nearly twice as common as free plans in SEO growth tools. 63% of tools offer a trial against 35% offering a free plan, which suggests the category has reached consensus that trial-led conversion fits the typical SEO buyer better than freemium.
- Trials in SEO growth tools are short compared to broader SaaS. The typical explicit trial runs 7 to 14 days and the average is around 12 days, which means 14-day or 30-day trials are exceptions and likely tied to longer onboarding products.
- Card-required trials are now a clear minority in SEO growth tools. Only 13% of tools require a credit card upfront and 58% explicitly do not, which means no-card trials are now a viable differentiation lever for new entrants in the SEO category.
- Plan count in SEO growth tools converges around three to four. The average is 3.7 plans and the median is 4 across the 113 tools, which confirms that two-tier SEO products feel incomplete to buyers and five-tier products produce decision overload.
- WordPress SEO plugins operate on completely different pricing economics from every other SEO growth tool group. Median entry $7 and median top plan $27 means plugin distribution dynamics force pricing into a compressed band that no other SEO sub-category tolerates.
- Rank tracking has the strongest expansion curve among SEO growth tools. The median rank-tracking top plan is $377 against a median entry of $33, which means rank trackers rely on small entry tickets to enable aggressive keyword-volume monetization later.
- Backlink and link tools within SEO growth tools are bimodally priced. Median entry is $40 but average entry is $101, which means the group contains both cheap utilities and premium link-risk platforms, making a flat average a misleading benchmark for either end.
- Local SEO follows a similar bimodal pattern in SEO growth tools. Median entry of $32 against an average of $77 reflects a split between affordable single-GBP trackers and enterprise multi-location platforms, which means the right comparison point depends on which end you're competing in.
- Keyword volume is the universal upgrade trigger in SEO growth tools. 44% of tools use it as their primary lever, a higher concentration than any other trigger, because keyword counts are unambiguous, easy to communicate, and tied to perceived value.
- AI has shifted from premium feature to baseline in SEO growth tools. AI appears in 47% of cheapest-plan descriptions but only 30% of upgrade triggers, which confirms AI presence is now table stakes while AI volume becomes the metering lever.
- API access remains the cleanest top-tier gate in SEO growth tools. 26% of tools meter API at upgrade points and 13% reserve it for enterprise specifically, which means API access is the clearest single signal of advanced or enterprise SEO buyer intent.
- White-labeling is less monetized than the agency narrative suggests in SEO growth tools. Only 11% of tools list it as an explicit upgrade trigger despite a large agency-tool population, which means white-label is more often included by default than gated.
- Enterprise pricing in SEO growth tools is mostly packaging, not features. 27% of enterprise pages emphasize custom limits and only 3% mention SSO, security, or white-label exclusively, which confirms enterprise is primarily about procurement comfort rather than product exclusivity.
- Money-back guarantees in SEO growth tools concentrate below $99 entry pricing. 27% of tools offer one overall, but the pattern is heavily skewed toward plugins and lower-priced self-serve tools, which means guarantees work as a substitute for trial mechanics in the cheap-and-complex segment of the category.
- The strongest monetization pattern in SEO growth tools is usage-based expansion on top of recurring tiers. Keywords, credits, crawl pages, sites, reports, and API access stack on a base subscription, which means pure feature-gating is no longer competitive in this category.
Methodology
We analyzed 113 SEO growth tools using publicly visible pricing information. Each tool was reduced to a comparable pricing profile covering name, primary workflow, pricing model, cheapest displayed monthly paid plan, highest displayed monthly paid plan, free plan availability, free trial availability, credit card requirement, monthly billing availability, annual discount, enterprise or custom pricing availability, free plan limitations, cheapest paid plan features, paid plan unlocks, and upgrade triggers. All percentages and aggregates are calculated from the same retained dataset, with denominators adjusted only when a field is unavailable, unclear, or not safely comparable.
We define SEO growth tools as software whose primary value proposition is to help users grow organic search traffic, improve SEO rankings, optimize content for search, perform keyword research, audit technical SEO, track SERP performance, build or analyze backlinks, improve internal linking, manage local SEO visibility, monitor indexing, or improve search-driven acquisition. We exclude generic CMS platforms, website builders, analytics tools, AI writing tools, content calendars, social media tools, PR tools, conversion tools, and marketing automation tools unless SEO growth or organic search performance is a central advertised feature. For ambiguous tools, we include them only when a buyer would reasonably describe the product as an SEO growth tool rather than a general content, website, analytics, or marketing product.
The dataset focuses on tools that are sufficiently comparable for pricing analysis. We retain recurring or hybrid recurring products with identifiable paid tiers, displayed plan structures, or enough public pricing information to compare against the rest of the market. We exclude tools whose pricing is entirely quote-based, one-off, free-only, pure pay-as-you-go without a recurring base, no longer publicly available, or too unclear to support reliable benchmarking. This prevents atypical pricing models from distorting the category-level conclusions.
Where annual pricing was the default display, we converted it into an effective monthly price to allow apples-to-apples comparison. Where pricing was shown in another currency, we used rounded USD equivalents. Where a plan was marked as "contact sales", "custom", or "on request", we recorded the presence of enterprise pricing but did not estimate a numeric price. Where a value was "unclear", "not stated", "varies", or "n/a", the row was excluded only from the specific metric that required that value, not from the full dataset.
Some extreme numeric values were excluded from average price calculations when they reflected unusually high-volume, enterprise-grade, credit-heavy, or specialist use cases that would distort the benchmark for mainstream SEO growth tools. Median calculations were preserved as the more robust indicator of the typical market position. This is why the analysis emphasizes medians alongside averages, especially for entry prices and highest displayed plan prices.
